Goodbye Summer…What to do with the Waste

Recycling Rules

Summer’s coming to an end and with that comes piles of toys, tools and other summer goods that will no longer be used.

Due to the mixed materials in these items, most of them are impossible to recycle. From inflatables, to mattresses, lounge chairs, beach balls, and water wings- all these summer items have one thing in common: They are NOT recyclable – Please keep them out of your Sioux Falls recycling bin.

We only accept single stream items for recycling – anything else is a NO unless you’ve contacted us directly and learned otherwise. If something can’t be reused or donated, you’ll most likely have to throw it away.

  • Inflatable Pools, Blow up pools, Swimming pools

  • Water wings
  • Intertubes
  • Foam noodles
  • Life vests, life jackets
  • Garden Hoses
  • Garden Tools
  • Sprinklers
  • Rubber duckies
  • Toy boats
  • Water Guns
  • Pool Toys
  • Other plastic toys
  • Trampolines
  • Tents
  • Basketballs
  • Sports Gear

Even though you can’t recycle these  items, you can try to reuse them, donate them, and purchase more responsibly made products.
